Outbreaks of food poisoning can be devastating, Food Safety training is a crucial element in safeguarding individuals and businesses from the impacts of food contamination and possible prosecution.
Each year, countless people experience the symptoms of foodborne illnesses, including diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps. Sadly, some even lose their lives due to these incidents. A majority of these cases originate from consuming food that has been contaminated as a result of poor food hygiene practices during various stages of preparation, storage or cooking.
Under the Food Safety Act 1990 and the multiple Food Hygiene regulations you have a legal obligation to comply with legislation.
Business owners need to develop, implement and maintain a Food Safety Management System based on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles. A business must ensure records and documents are retained and reviewed to reflect its food safety procedures, this can be fundamental in a due diligence defence.
